Reload Recap: Flat Out in May

May was one of those months where it felt like we were constantly on the move. Between race weekends, client shoots, website projects and a new client onboarding, there wasn't much time to stand still.

A busy month, but a productive one.

WJA Photo & Video Shoot - York

We kicked off the month with a trip up to York for a shoot with our long-standing client, the Water Jetting Association.

As part of their new website and wider marketing activity, they needed a fresh bank of photography and video content that could be used across their website, social channels and training materials. The focus for this shoot was safety awareness training and drain and sewer operations, capturing real-world scenarios that showcase the work WJA does across the industry.

It was a full day of filming, photography and drone work, and thankfully the Yorkshire weather played ball for us. The content is already proving valuable across multiple areas of the project and will help bring their new website to life when it launches later this year.

Mental Health Awareness Month - BTCC

One of the most meaningful projects we worked on this month was a content series for the British Touring Car Championship in support of Mental Health Awareness Month.

Working closely with the championship, we planned, organised and produced a series of six in-depth interviews with drivers, team principals and key paddock personnel. The conversations were honest, personal and often emotional, highlighting the importance of mental wellbeing within a high-pressure sporting environment.

The series featured some well-known names from the BTCC paddock, including four-time champion Jason Plato.

From developing interview questions and coordinating schedules through to filming, editing and distribution, we handled the project from start to finish. It's a piece of work we're particularly proud of and one that generated some fantastic engagement across the championship's channels.

Terry Stone Connection - More Episodes, More TikToks

Another month meant another run of filming with Terry Stone.

Alongside the usual podcast guest episodes and reaction content, May saw us branch further into short-form content, creating a bank of TikTok videos that are now being rolled out across social media.

Terry is always up for trying new ideas, and being a seasoned actor, he's not exactly camera shy. Whether it was filming sketches around the office or testing out new content formats, there was plenty of laughter involved. Our social media manager, Floss, particularly enjoyed this one, although we're not entirely sure who was encouraging who, click here to watch the video.

Welcoming DRNK

We're excited to welcome a new client to the Reload family.

DRNK, an independent café based in Brighton, has joined us for social media management, content creation and scheduling support.

From our initial conversations, it's clear there are plenty of exciting opportunities to develop their content and showcase what makes the brand unique. Of course, we're also not opposed to the occasional trip to Brighton for "research purposes" especially when the café is only a stone's throw from the beach.

We're looking forward to getting stuck into this one over the coming months.

Two BTCC Race Weekends?!

What's better than a BTCC race weekend?

Two BTCC race weekends.

May saw us covering both Brands Hatch and Snetterton, each bringing their own challenges and opportunities for content creation.

Being our local circuit, Brands Hatch always feels a little like a home event. Alongside the usual social media coverage, we continued work on the Mental Health Awareness Month campaign and filmed content around the BTCC's Driven By Sport initiative, which aims to inspire the next generation of motorsport talent.

Later in the month we headed to a very warm Snetterton for another busy race weekend. Friday's content schedule included filming a new episode of the BTCC podcast, feature interviews and some lighter behind-the-scenes content around the paddock that you'll be seeing during the championship's mid-season break.

Safe to say the sunscreen got plenty of use that weekend.

Ensigna – Hillingdon Hospital Case Study

We were back on site with Ensigna this month, revisiting Hillingdon Hospital following the completion of one of their major projects.

Having documented the project throughout its development, this shoot was all about capturing the finished result. We filmed interviews with the site manager, gathered drone footage and captured detailed b-roll to create a case study video that Ensigna can use across their website and LinkedIn.

It's always rewarding to revisit a project once the dust has settled and see the final outcome. Even better when you've been involved in telling the story from start to finish.

Conclusion

All in all, May kept us busy. Between the shoots, meetings, edits and launches, the month seemed to disappear in the blink of an eye.

June is already filling up nicely, so we'll enjoy the brief moment of calm while it lasts before diving into the next round of projects. See you in the June recap.
